Government IT to be scrutinised

ZDNet blogger David Meyer writes that the Government’s IT strategy is to be probed.

The Public Administration Select Committee will look at how government:

“identifies business needs, the effectiveness of governance arrangements, and procurement policy and practice”.

This is in response to central government’s notoriety for:

“large IT projects running over time, over budget and ultimately failing”.

Evidence will be taken later this year and it will extremely interesting to see what conclusions are reached.
